Thea Rossi Barron is a resident
of Fairfax County, Virginia, who has divided her time for the last twenty years
between practicing law and painting. She prefers to paint en plein air, adding
finishing touches in her studio. She works in watercolors for her
medium-to-large landscapes and seascapes. For her small cityscapes, she uses
mixed media, often watercolors and ink. Traveling with sketchbook and points at
hand, she is drawn to the contours of the land and the characters of her fellow
travelers. Thea especially likes to paint scenes from the Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio
and Campania regions of Italy, the land of her ancestors.
For the last twenty years, she has exhibited her works in juried and non-juried
shows in the Washington, D.C. and northern Virginia areas. She had solos shows
in Arlington, Virginia in 1997 and 1999
and in Fairfax in June 2005. Her works hang in private residences and offices
in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area and in private collections in Rhode
Island, New York, North Carolina, Michigan and
California.
She is a member of the Art League in Alexandria, the Fairfax Council of the
Arts, and McLean Center for the Arts. She was one of five artists whose works
were part of the New Members Show at Gallery West in April 2005. Her work can be
viewed on her website:

and can also be purchased at A
Show of Hands in the Del Ray section of Alexandria.
