Donnalynne Lefever is a full time faux finisher and mural artist in the Metropolitan Washington DC area.  Since all day long she paints what everyone else wants, on her own time she paints whatever her imagination comes up with.  Sometimes the images pop into her head and she just puts them down.  Other times the artwork just evolves from a blank canvas.

Donnalynne received her Bachelor of Arts degree in theater at the University of Maryland.  Just shortly after graduating she moved to NYC where she made costumes for Broadway including Cats, Song and Dance, Starlight Express, Phantom of the Opera and  the Joffrey Ballet to name a few.

When she moved back to Northern Virginia where she is from, she met a designer who got her started in faux finishes and murals.  At this same time she also took her 1st organized art class which happened to be in oils at Northern Virginia Community College on the Alexandria campus.  She took at least one art class a year for about 10 years getting stuck in ceramics for awhile.  But as images started popping into her head she started putting them down mostly on canvas.  She works  a majority of the time in acrylics, but loves any kind of leafing and has no hesitation in adding it.  Pen and ink, pencil. oil sticks and mixed media are also things that are fun for her to work with.
She is also an active member of the Del Ray Artisans in Alexandria,VA and has shown and sold work there over the years.  She has also shown work at the Fairfax County Gov. Center, Alexandria City Hall, Franconia Gov. Center and NOVA Alexandria Campus.  There is currently a painting of hers "May Angels Lead You" in the permanent collection of the Mt. Vernon Hospital's healing art program.
