Deena’s genre is realism whose roots are in the classical tradition. She has experimented with trompe l’oeil and other subject matters to find her creative voice. Although she has painted on and off since high school Deena has been working her craft seriously for the last 5 years. She has studied under Larry Charles, Patrick Kirwin and Susan Norman. Deena has been an active member of The Art League and Springfield Art Guild in Virginia since 2006. She is a board member with Springfield Art Guild, 2009.Deena joined the Loft Gallery, in Occoquan, VA in august 2009. She resides with her husband, Larry, in Burke, Virginia.
Since moving in 2005 to the Fairfax Virginia area she has shown her work at the Franconia Government Center, Fairfax Government Center, Pohick Library and a solo showing at Kingstowne Library. The Art League in Alexandria, VA and Lorton Workhouse in Lorton, VA
