Maureen is originally
from New York. She has lived in Fairfax County, Virginia since 1986.
Her father and older sister were both artists so Maureen grew up in a
home filled with art and art supplies. She received a Bachelor of Arts
in Art History from Fordham University in New York and then an
Associate Degree in Interior Design from The Fashion Institute of
Technology in New York City. Maureen facilitates Creativity Workshops
and teaches art in her home studio and in the community. She also
practices Art Healing in the hospital, community and in her home
studio.
She has studied with
several well-known local and national artists, through the Springfield
Art Guild, the Alexandria Art League and independently. She is a
member of The Springfield Art Guild and active supporter of the Lorton
Arts Foundation. Maureen has exhibited her work at River Farm in
Alexandria, Green Spring Gardens, the Fairfax County Government
Center, Kingstown Library, Mount Vernon Hospital and at Springfield
Days.
