BRONIA ICHEL
Bronia Ichel was born in
Poland and came to the United States with her family at the age of
thirteen. An educator and artist, she works with watercolor and mixed
media and has recently turned to photography as well as painting. Bronia
has been fortunate to have the opportunity to live and travel in
Europe and North America with her husband, and most recently in
Northern Canada where she found inspiration in the wilderness of the
area's natural wonders. Her watercolor paintings and photography
reflect that close connection with nature.
Bronia has a BA degree in Fine Arts and Education and continued her art education with graduate courses in printmaking and photography. After university, she taught, and traveled to the Netherlands where she studied painting under Albert Dolmans in The Hague. Bronia is a founder of the Clearwater Artists in Fort McMurray, Alberta, where she had a unique opportunity to study with Carol Breene, an award-winning artist on an international level to whom Bronia owes much of her success and inspiration. In Virginia, she also studied with Judy Wengrovitz, accomplished artist, whose work she much admires. Bronia is a teacher herself and considers herself blessed to have had the opportunity to teach art with Fairfax County Public Schools, where she inspires creativity, spreads her love for the arts, and promotes her belief that every child is an artist. Bronia's work is in private and public collections in the continental United States and Canada and as far away as Norway.
