Maureen Wolford’s versatility in art media has evolved from her realistic large flowers, inspired by the expressions of Georgia O’Keefe, to the spontaneous expressive art of her mixed media pieces inspired by artists such as Robert Henri and Wassily Kandinsky. With each piece, Maureen encourages us to focus on the beauty around us, and to share the emotions expressed by her intuitive pieces.
Maureen often times works from the inside out doing spontaneous, expressive art, transmitting the essence of images with trust and open mindedness. She loves change and risk. She shows passion for what she does which inspires even more experimentation with media and techniques. You will find Maureen in Studio 504 of The Workhouse, and also on her website www.MaureenWolford.com. Maureen teaches classes at The Workhouse, Fairfax County Continuing Education and in her home studio. She is a member of the Springfield Art Guild, The Arts Council of Fairfax County and The Virginia Watercolor Society.
