A NEW Creativity
Project Challenge

Get Ready
For This Show!
It’s Something New.

Starting with this February issue of SAG online, we will publish a photograph or two in each issue through June with these purposes: to stimulate your artistic vibe, and to create a new show. Here’s what we have in mind.

You may interpret the photo artistically in any way you wish, 2D and 3D; realistically or abstractly; in whole or in part; medium of your choice. Even do it two or more ways if you’re inspired! Then, Stephanie Bianco will announce a call for entries via email about July 15th, to create a September show in our community room. You can show any of the work that you have done as it relates to the inspiration photos.

Our members will be the judges in an open vote for prizes in:

1) Crowd Favorite
2) Most Creative
3) Best use of materials

Prizes will be awarded!

If you have an original photograph that you would like to see others interpret please send it to our Newsletter Designer, Reggie Garrett at: reggiedrew@aol.com All the photos used in the challenge will also be on display at the final showing.

About the Springfield Art Guild

Begun over 40 years ago by Yolande Frost and  artist Judy Wengrovitz, the Springfield Art Guild (SAG) is a non-profit group interested in promoting an interest in fine art and fine crafts through educational programs, juried shows, and classes for adults and children.  SAG seeks to develop artistic appreciation in the community by providing scholarships for high school students, exhibiting art, co-sponsoring an annual New York trip, as well as local tours, and publishing a monthly newsletter.

Monthly meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month, September through June, at the Springfield Mall, Springfield, VA. Park and enter using door 6, next to Penney's.  Our location is between the Information desk and Penney's on the ground floor.  Each meeting begins with refreshments at 7:00 p.m, a short business meeting at 7:30 p.m. followed by a presentation, lecture, or demonstration by an artist.

Photographers, sculptors, digital artists and  the public are encouraged to participate.  For additional information please contact President, Gloria Benedetto glbene1123@yahoo.com.  Please use (SAG) in the subject line when e-mailing.
