Kristin Herzog enjoys doing both
realistic and abstract art work and
experiments in many different media. Her awards for fine art include the
Leila Gardin Sawyer Award for Drawing,
New York City; Second
Place/Drawing,
International Exhibit V, Laredo, TX; Honorable Mention/Drawing,
International Exhibit IV, Laredo, TX; Honorable Mention, Cheyenne, WY;
selection for the Poynter Institute exhibition, 2001, Tampa, FL.
She also works as a publication designer and has won over 24 national and
regional awards in this capacity. She has been Art Director for both an
international magazine and a major US daily newspaper. She has taught at
the
University of Florida and Indiana University.
Ms. Herzog studied at Sweet Briar College under Loren Oliver and took
classes with Bauhaus artist Kurt Kranz. She has an MFA from George
Washington University and four years of additional graduate training at
the
School of Visual Arts in New York City.
She lives in Fairfax, Virginia with Lilly, a serene and sane cat, and
Maxine
The Terrible who is all her name implies. Both cats have frequently been
models for Ms. Herzog's drawings.
